POSITION OVERVIEW:

Mercury is seeking a Tower Technician III who has completed at least 2 years in the wireless industry, this candidate is one who can proficiently identify safety hazards, solutions, a full understanding of RF configurations, testing, and troubleshooting any problems on the tower. As a Tower Technician III assistance in helping train and develop the Tower Technician I and II team members. This employee must be motivated and capable of supervising and communicating tasks others on the job site. The ideal candidate will be safety focused, customer and quality centric, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude. 


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Safely/Properly use a Cathead Hoist without supervision
  • Decommission a tower and tower equipment safely and efficiently
  • Capable of utilizing a RET controller
  • Properly PIM test, RF Sweep test and Fiber test as requested from the top of tower
  • Ability to do tower mapping
  • Able to install and route coax, hybrid trunks, and all jumpers
  • Proficient at installing Flash Technology Controllers
  • Able to hang booms, mounts, antennas, and equipment and able to rig a tower in a Class IV rigging scenario
  • Understands configurations and can interpret Construction Drawings, Structural Analysis, RFDS, and Plumbing Diagrams
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ensure there is a safety manual, a safety rescue kit, a complete first aid kit, a working fire extinguisher and water and everyone knows where to locate it on site
  • Ability to climb and work up to 500+ft and be able to lift over 50 pounds 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • This position reports to the corporate headquarters to collect necessary supplies, located at 18777 US Highway 66 Pacific, MO 63069. 
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, like sitting, squatting, standing, walking and driving
  • Must endure regular exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and rainy during all seasons throughout the year
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated
  • Must wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats and high visible vest when working on-site

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 

  • 2+ years in a position/career field associated with Tower Technician III
  • JLG trained and certified
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification, RF Awareness Training
  • Valid Driver’s License 
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
