Position Title: Tower Technician III

  • Basic Computer Skills
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Ability to climb up to 500+ft
  • Safely/Properly use a Cathead Hoist without supervision
  • Decommission a tower and tower equipment safely and efficiently
  • Capable of utilizing a RET controller
  • Properly PIM test and RF Sweep test from top of tower
  • Properly Fiber Test
  • Ability to do tower mapping
  • Proficiently able to install and route coax, coax jumpers, Hybrid trunks, and Hybrid jumpers
  • Proficient at installing Flash Technology Controllers
  • Able to hang booms, mounts, antennas, and equipment
  • Understands configurations and can interpret Construction Drawings, RFDS, and Plumbing Diagrams
  • Rig a tower in a Class 4 rigging scenario
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Able to pass Mercury Tower Technician III written certification test
Work Environment:
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including climbing, sitting, standing, walking, hands over head and reach out.
  • May be required to work day, evening or night hours, overtime, weekends and out-of-town assignments
  • May be required to travel in multiple states throughout the U.S. with or without notice to meet project deadlines. Must be able to stay deployed for the duration of the job
  • Assume responsibility for work outcomes and results of other workers
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated
  • May be exposed to common allergens on a regular basis including, but not limited to; grass, trees, hay, straw, etc.
 
Experience and Education:
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in the position/career field associated with a Tower Technician III.
  • JLG trained and certified
